Taliban plan to revamp Afghan govt bodies

Will create councils to replace erstwhile Afghan govt bodies

Kabul, Dec 26: A number of erstwhile Afghanistan government bodies have been dissolved by the Taliban in order to establish a new council, media reports said.

The Taliban is working on creating a grand council and other common councils, Zabiullah Mujahid, Taliban-appointed Deputy Minister of information and culture and spokesman, said.
As per the report of The Khaama News Agency, Mujahid said the ‘administrations were a burden on the government and dissolved them due to economic woes’.
A grand council consisting of patriarchs and tribal elders will be formed with a small sub-council in the nation, Mujahid added.
Notably, the Taliban government had dissolved ministries of state in peace and parliament affairs and two other independent commissions of the election on December 23.
