Snowfall in Lahaul Spiti & Kinnaur, cloudburst in Sirmaur, crop destroyed

Shimla, Sep 21(UNI) Inclement weather including rain, snowfall and cloudburst disrupted normal life in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday. Reports arriving here said that high reach of Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur recorded fresh snowfall which increased the cold wave in the state.
Kunzum, Rohtang and Baralacha passes received snowfall in the morning and Kinner-Kailash and high reaches of Chitkul reported light to moderate snowfall overnight.
Monsoon continues to wreak havoc in the hill state causing loss of life and property for last three months. There are fresh reports of cloud burst in a village of Sirmuar district last night which destroyed the crops and arable land in the village.
Spokesperson of the State Emergency Operation Centre Mr Sudesh Mokta said that cloudburst at village Chamyar Korud Nihog in Nahan Tehsil of Sirmaur district happened at 2005 on Monday night.
As per the information received here from the district headquarter Sirmaur said that incident of cloud bursts
occurred at Chamyar village due to which most of the people’s land and corps have been destroyed.
District Administration has been informed the concern department about the mishap . The Met office said that monsoon was vigorous in the state as most places were lashed with rainfall during last 24 hrs.
Slapper had 50 mm rain, Baijnath in Kangra 45 mm, Bilaspur 37 mm, Manali , Kothi in Kullu and Rajgarh in Sirmaur 18 mm each, Sarahan and Sangrah nine mm each, Dharmshala and Palampur in Kangra five mm, Berthin in Bilaspur four mm and Rampur in Shimla three.mm.
The Met Office have warned of heavy rainfall in Kangra, Mandi, Solan and Sirmaur district and forecast of
rain and thunderstorm at many places in the mid and foot hills and few places in the high reaches of the state
in next 24 hrs.
